Irishman becomes successful entrepreneur at 24 

When 24-year-old Aidan Davis took the leap into entrepreneurship, he wasn’t just starting a business – he was building the foundation for the life he wanted. After gaining hands-on experience with the My Property Pros (MPP) head office marketing team, he launched My Property Pros South Belfast & Lisburn with one clear ambition: to grow across the entirety of Northern Ireland. 

Aidan’s Journey 

After completing his degree in marketing at Ulster University in Belfast, 24-year-old Aidan Davis set off to launch his career in industry. Although he wanted to start his own business and become an entrepreneur, he knew that he needed to gain professional experience before taking the big leap.  

This led him to My Property Pros. Aidan joined the business’s marketing team developing social content – giving him a front row seat to the world of exterior cleaning, as well as the franchisees building successful, profitable businesses.    

Having seen first-hand the growth and potential of the exterior cleaning industry, Aidan recognised that the timing and opportunity were too good to miss. This led to the launch of My Property Pros South Belfast & Lisburn. 

Becoming a Franchisee  

“I always knew I’d run my own business one day, but I didn’t think I would make that dream a reality at 24,” said Aidan. “At the My Property Pros head office, I watched so many people starting their ownership journey while knowing that I could do the same.” 

Founded in 1996, My Property Pros is the UK’s first and only national exterior property cleaning franchise. Having identified and leveraged a gap in the market close to three decades ago, the brand is now firmly established as a highly profitable, award-winning, multi-van franchise opportunity. After three years with the company’s head office, Aidan felt that his time had come. “It was finally my turn to start the franchisee training,” Aidan explained. “The team walked me through everything. I was shown how to apply for a business loan to purchase a van and equipment as well as setting myself up on Companies House. Alongside this, I was taught how to deliver five-star results.”

Life as a Business Owner 

“Since launching, the local response has been incredible,” Aidan said. “My customers have been delighted with our service, and word has spread quickly. It meant that I could take on my first employee last summer.  

“Connor had been stuck doing a typical nine-to-five office role that he didn’t enjoy. Now, he works outdoors, completing active, satisfying work that he finds rewarding. And now I’m looking at recruiting a second employee and purchasing another van!” 

Despite expectations, Aidan hasn’t found the work to be seasonal. “As the winter months set in and storm season continues, it’s easy to assume that fewer people will bother with external cleaning services. I’ve certainly not found this to be the case. Thanks to the skill of my team, we’ve been able to complete jobs during daylight hours, ensuring clients are satisfied no matter the time of year.  

“I’ve had so much support during this period – whether that’s from friends and family, the local community or My Property Pros. I regularly fly to England to meet up with fellow franchisees as well as speak to them through our group chat. It’s incredibly helpful in situations where I’m on a job and I’m unsure of the best approach. Someone will come back to me in minutes with their thoughts.  

“There’s no competition between the franchises – we’re not competing to see who generates the most profit or has the largest territory. Whenever someone does something that’s more efficient, drives a better result or improves customer satisfaction, they share it with everyone so they can apply it to their area.”  

What’s Next? 

“I have big plans for the franchise,” Aidan said. “Eventually, I want to cover the entirety of Northern Ireland with my dad. It’s something that we’re actively working towards.”  

He has also become a key part in many new franchisees’ journey. “I’ve been actively involved in training new franchisees – something that I’ll continue. They travel over to Ireland and spend a week with me putting the theory they’ve learned into action.  

“It’s great as I get to meet everyone that joins the franchise and develop a bond with them. I can also help capture photos and videos of them for their social media and marketing materials, which they’re always appreciative of.  

“On a personal level, I want to purchase my first home with my partner. She’s been incredibly supportive of my business, even if it has pushed back our dreams of home ownership to late 2027. I know that when that time comes, we’ll be able to afford a much nicer property to settle down in.”  

Aidan wants to reach the point where the business runs itself by supervising a team of well-trained, knowledgeable people who complete each project to a high standard.  

“Joining the My Property Pros head office after graduating led me on a journey to where I am today. Becoming a business owner has been a dream come true, and having the support of everyone around me has been a key component to my success.
