“Our parents are VERY supportive of us in general but they definitely weren’t 100% on board with this at first! Will’s dad is an accountant so for him, the main concerns were around income and the financial risk. My dad also ran a successful business previously and had concerns. It gave us a bit of a wobble about whether or not we were making the right decision!
“I think it’s pretty safe to say that we have blown their expectations out of the water. They are genuinely very optimistic about this year too with the re-brand and potential opportunity that comes with it. My dad’s main concern now is whether we’ll be able to reach his mossy roof with our roof wand over their new extension!!
“Me? I was very bought into the proposition as I’d been on the initial calls but it was a big change for Will and there was a small part of both of us that had niggling doubts. It’s been a journey but has definitely exceeded our expectations too!”
Kerry ran her own business at the time Will launched and says, “I ran my business alongside MPP for a while, but two businesses and two kids was a bit much. In the end, the potential return on me being involved with MPP was bigger and gave me more flexibility to be a mum as well… so here I am. Family business all the way!”

“We previously had a business where David was able to make money if he was working 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, but as soon as employees were added the business became much less profitable. This hugely impacted our family life and finances. My reservations with David being self employed again were that we would fall into the same trap. And also that property cleaning didn’t seem either exciting or scalable.
“I have a career that I love which involves travelling and time away from home. We also have a very young daughter. This means that I don’t have much time to help David with the franchise, which we both class as our family business.
“Despite my concerns, the MPP franchise has actually meant that David is more available, and there to share parenting responsibilities, because he can schedule and manage his workload. He is home in the evening and most weekends so we can enjoy our time as a young family. I know David enjoys his work and running a growing business, and in the future I’m sure he will achieve his goal of being less hands-on, because he has the knowledge and help from a big network where many have achieved this goal already or are working their way to it!”
